Galaxia Communications announced on June 16 that the company signed a contract with Singapore's overseas money transfer company “TransferTo” to set up a prepaid charging service for international mobile calls.

TransferTo is a Singapore-based company providing pre-paid mobile phone and international remittance services for over 550 mobile carriers in 120 countries.

This contract will enable users of Galaxia Communications’ Money Tree Service to prepay the usage charge of international mobile calls in real time through a mobile phone app. In the past, people purchased an international telephone prepaid card, requesting remittance after inputting card number online. The service will be launched first in Southeast Asia countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, and Vietnam in the second half of this year and expanded to other countries in the future.

"We are planning to expand service countries in the next year after starting in major countries in the second half of this year," said Koh Kwang-rim, director of new business at Galaxia Communications. "We will become a mobile comprehensive financial platform that can satisfy our customers by introducing mobile phone communication prepaid charging services and overseas small-sum transfer service to Money Tree."
