SK Broadband announced on June 14 that the company signed an MOU with CITIA (Cite' de l'Image) of France and the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) for the successful hosting of the Annecy Animation Festival in Sangam-dong, Seoul in September 2019.

The Annecy Animation Festival is the world's largest animation festival that started in 1960. The animation bash consists of a contents review, an award ceremony, conferences and a film market among other events. The jubilee is held in France in June every year and carries out touring events for each continent on the sidelines of the festival.

SK Broadband and the SBA jointly planned the Annecy Asia Animation Festival in Seoul. In particular, SK Broadband will support festival publicity and marketing for excellent animations through its own platforms, Oksusu and B TV as an official Korean business partner of CITIA.

"I am planning to successfully hold this event together with the SBA to become a catalyst for the revitalization of the Korean animation industry," said Yoon Sang-chul, head of the Contents Business Division at SK Broadband.
