Samsung Electronics announced that it has officially rolled out the voice assistant component of its artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, Bixby, to Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in South Korea at 1pm on May 1. The company has released a new software update that enables the Bixby Voice feature on the same day.

Bixby supports four services – Vision, which uses the phone’s camera to recognize famous places and specific products, Reminder, which organize schedules and give users a reminder, Home, which shows necessary information on one page, and Voice, which allows users to operate the phone using a voice command. All the features, except for Bixby Voice, have been available since the Galaxy S8 and S8+ were officially launched. On the other hand, Samsung has started rolling out Bixby Voice services on the 1st.

When numerous Galaxy S8 owners use voice command services, Bixby will be able to handle an increasing number of commands in the future.

As all the features of voice-controlled AI assistant Bixby, which is considered the strongest point of the Galaxy S8, are now available, the Galaxy S8 is expected to increase sales in earnest.
