Hanwha Corp. clinched an order for a logistics automation facility project of about 90 billion won (US$81 million) from Nexen Tire in the Czech Republic.

 

Hanwha Corp. recently clinched an order for a logistics automation facility project of about 90 billion won (US$81 million) from Nexen Tire in the Czech Republic and confirmed the order on April 3.

The Nexen Tire Czech factory is located in Zatec, 70 km northwest of Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, and will serve as a base for its tire production in Europe.

Hanwha Corp. will supply general engineering services to perform detailed design, purchase and construction simultaneously by building an automation system for the entire process. The facilities to be built or made include an automated warehouse system, unmanned autonomous vehicles, ceiling conveyors, robot automation equipment, and conveyors.

In 2011, Hanwha established the first business relationship with Nexen Tire by successfully completing an automation system for all processes at Changnyeong Factory in 2011. Especially, based on its know-how in the field of logistics automation system, Hanwha Corp. has been providing comprehensive facilities construction services that include design, construction and post-construction management.

"We will build a logistics system with the best efficiency based on our experience in performing a logistics automation project at Nexen Tire Changnyeong Factory and our diverse experience in domestic and overseas constructions," said Kim Yeon-cheol, CEO of Hanhwa Corp.
