Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on March 6 that it has launched “Dong-A Denmark Probiotics” made with lactic acid bacteria of Denmark’s Chr. Hansen, which has the largest share in the global lactobacillus market.

Dong-A Denmark Probiotics contains 1 billion of strains specialized for healthy bowels and is blended with Chr. Hansen’s own Bifidobacterium (BB-12®) and Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA-5®) probiotic strains. It helps multiply intestinal beneficial bacteria and contain harmful bacteria, bowel movements go normal and improve bowel function. Both BB-12® and LA-5® have proved its positive effects on intestinal health through more than 240 clinical data.

In particular, BB-12® has received a Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) status by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S.

In addition, the new product does not contain any kinds of combined congener or synthetic sweetener. Using vegetarian capsules, it is safe for pregnant and breast-feeding women and toddlers to take. Children can also conveniently take it due to small capsules.           With its container featured with the moisture absorption prevention technology, consumers can safely keep the product even at room temperature.

The probiotic bacteria is microorganism that has a health benefit when ingested. Lactobacillus and bifidobacterium are representative probiotic bacteria. They help make the intestine healthy, improve digestive functions and prevent the immune system from deteriorating.
