Apple to Appeal ICT’s Final Ruling to Allow Import of Samsung Smartphones

Apple is trying to expand the ban on the import of Samsung Electronics’ products to the United States by making an appeal against the final ruling by the International Trade Commission (ITC).

Foss Patents reported on October 15 that Apple lodged a complaint against the unfavorable part of the ruling delivered by the ITC on October 9 (local time). Although specific details of the appeal have not yet been disclosed, the German blog assumed that Apple maintained that Samsung’s products infringed upon its design patents. 

Earlier in August this year, the ITC ruled that Samsung Electronics had not infringed on Apple’s D’678 design patent for the iPhone.
