Wireless Earphones with AI
It is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will make its debut this coming spring with a wireless Bluetooth earphone that supports USB-C charging and the Galaxy S8 will have no 3.5 mm earphone jack.
In addition, the earphone is expected to be used for connection between its user and the AI personal assistant of the Galaxy S8.
This is similar to AirPod used with iPhone 7. AirPod works with Siri and iPhone users can control Siri by means of the wireless earphone without taking the phone out of their pockets. AirPod has no volume button but can be controlled based on voice command input to Siri via AirPod. The voice commands cover questions about the current weather and remaining battery capacity as well as AirPod volume control. AirPod stirred some controversy during its early days in the market for inconvenience and its high price. These days, however, its popularity is on the rise to the point of additional supply having been promised by Apple.
Such voice command-based AI personal assistant features are likely to completely change the user exchange of various gadgets down the road. For example, AI speakers already available in the market are much more convenient than Bluetooth speakers in that music playlists do not have to be searched on smartphones.
Furthermore, various things such as weather check, schedule check and even food delivery can be carried out without a phone being held on the hand.
