Orion announced on December 22 that its Chinese corporation’s Shanghai, Beijing, Shenyang and Guangzhou factories were selected as some of TOP 6 factories in an audit by the American Institute of Baking (AIB).

This year, AIB evaluated 666 confectionery factories in the world, and Shanghai Factory came in third with 985 points which were Orion's highest-ever score. Beijing and Shenyang Factories were tied at 4th place with 980 points, respectively and the Gwangju Factory claimed 6th place with 975 points. These factories were recognized to maintain a high hygiene level by acing in manufacturing environment, personal hygiene and pest control management items once again.

The AIB, one of the most rigorous evaluators in the global food market, conducts audits of global companies' manufacturing environments, facilities, personal hygiene, pest control and food safety programs among others. Since 1996, Orion has been the only Korean food company to have its domestic and overseas factories audited by the AIB for 20 years.

"With the global quality honor for our factories in China as momentum, Orion will manage all production facilities more thoroughly in order to provide food that consumers around the world can eat safely," an Orion representative said.
