Blocko (https://www.blocko.io/index_en.html), a blockchain startup, announced on December 12 that its blockchain development platform “CoinStack v3.0” received the First Class Good Software (GS) Certificate, the first of its kind in blockchain software industry.

The GS certification is a state-authorized certification system to be granted when passing rigorous tests on software’s functionality, reliability, usability and performance based on the standard of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Products with the GS certification can be not only exempted from the third-party unit price contract of the Public Procurement Service, the registration in the Korea On-line E-Procurement System, and the performance test of the Small and Medium Business Administration, but also can enjoy various benefits including a designation as preferential purchases by public agencies.

CoinStack, the nation’s first blockchain development platform released in July 2015, is a middleware that enables developers to conveniently develop and operate blockchain-based applications and provide Software Development Kit 9SDK) and its integrated blockchain technology stacks. Customer companies have an option to choose from three types – “Public Blockchain,” “Private Blockchain” and “Cloud and On-Premise” – according to their purpose and budget for the blockchain adoption.

Kim Won-beom, CEO of Blocko, said, “CoinStack is contributing to the services for blockchain customers of Korea Exchange, Lotte Card and Jeonbuk Bank, receiving favorable evaluations and recognition. With the acquisition of the GS certification, we are now able to offer excellent blockchain products in terms of functionality and performance to customers.”

Meanwhile, Blocko recently competed the development of Smart Contracts engine, which can handle a task itself under the pre-established conditions, and it is compatible with the Smart Contract of Ethereum. It is provided in Lua and Java languages so that Smart Contracts, which are to become a core technology in the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart grid industry sectors, can be easily applied to the related industries. The supplied languages will be gradually expanded as well.

Currently, Coinstack SDKs and APIs of Blocko are available on its website for individual developers free of charge.
