Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC) saw its analysis of “ginseng ginsenosides” be recognized by the state-run Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) for the first time in the world.

The analysis recognized by the KOLAS has set an international standard for ginseng, secured the competitive edge on exporting and led the global ginseng market.

Previously, KGC received the international certifications on crop protectors, heavy metals, inorganic components, microbes and nutritional contents. This time, the company also gained approval on the suitability of ginsenosides. Accordingly, KGC proved its top level of competence for quality test analysis in terms of both safety and effectiveness once again.

The company’s 196 test results in six sectors have the same international effect with 86 official certificates approved by overseas laboratory accreditation agencies in 72 countries, such as the United States, Japan, China and Europe. As a result, when the company exports red ginseng to other countries, it doesn’t have to get additional tests or product certifications on certified items, shortening the time required to obtain international certifications and improving the competitiveness in export.
