Kakao has signed an MOU with Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center and a corporation Jeju Ole to promote cultural contents in Jeju Island.

Kakao Corp. announced on September 21 that it has signed a multilateral memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center and a corporation Jeju Ole to promote cultural contents in Jeju Island.

Under the agreement, Kakao will support various contents marketing campaigns participated in by residents in Jeju, including Olle Trail Halmang accommodations, by making use of Brunch, Story Funding, Yellow ID and Daum services.

It will also push sales of regional products and regional culture experience programs through its mobile build to order (BTO) platform “MAKERS with Kakao.”

The Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center will develop and operate training programs to strengthen the competence of regional culture content developers, prep entrepreneurs and startups and reinforce the promotion and marketing plans for cultural contents in the region connected with sponsoring companies’ products and services.

Jeju Olle will discover regional resources in Olle Trail to develop local cultural contents, communicate with the residents and design and sell regional cultural content products.

Kakao, Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center and Jeju Ole expected that the latest MOU would help integrate various Jeju cultural contents marketing plans which had been so far separately operated.

Contents for Olle Trail Halmang accommodations will be run by Dazayo, a company that operates Jeju trip and sharing accommodation platform which belongs to the Jeju Creative Economy Innovation Center, while culture experience programs and regional products run by Jeju Olle will be sold through MAKERS with Kakao.
