The LS Group announced on August 18 that it has sent the 18th “LS College Student Volunteer Service Group,” which consists of 50 Korean college students and staff members, to Vietnam for 12 days from the 11th to 22nd.

The next year marks the 10th anniversary of the LS College Student Volunteer Service Group. A total of 650 college students and employees have taken part in 18 groups so far since 2007. They have volunteered to improve the educational environment in developing countries, such as India, Cambodia and Vietnam, and offer various cultural and emotional education classes.

Participants in the 18th volunteer service group are offering science classes to Vietnamese elementary school students in order to help them make solar-powered vehicles and solar flashlights. Also, volunteers are providing various art, music, physical and hygiene education programs. In addition, they will return to Korea on the 22th after repairing old school facilities and holding a performance of taekwondo and K-pop.

An official from LS Group said, “The group has made an every effort to help Vietnam develop the latest electric technologies by establishing the production bases of LS Cable & System, LSIS, and LS Mtron in Haiphong, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam. We will continue to make additional investments and seek the industrial advances taking Vietnam as the base to push into the Southeast Asian markets in the future.”
