Undergraduate students majoring in industrial design at Dongseo University have consecutively won the big three global design awards.

On September 30, Dongseo University announced that two teams from its industrial design major won the globally renowned “Red Dot Award” held in Germany.

One of the teams made of five seniors including Park Cheol-yeon, Jung Chan, Kim Sung-do, Lim Sung-jin, and Heo Soo-sun won the award with a mini razor wearable on the fingers to make shaving and carrying more convenient.

Another team made of seniors Heo Jin-won, Kim Da-som, Yoon Kyung-han, and juniors Son Chang-man and Choi Soon-sik was awarded for its laser pen shooting laser guidelines which allow anyone to write neatly on white paper.

About 4,394 designs from 56 nations around the world were submitted for the contest. Only 5.7% of these designs were awarded the Red Dot. The Awards Ceremony will be held in Singapore on October 25.

Two industrial design students, Kim Soo-in (Jr.) and Kim Tae-jin (Sr.), have won other awards such as the Germany IF Design Awards, Germany Universal Design Awards, and the US IDEA Design Awards.
