According to the industry sources including the China Business News, Huawei filed patent lawsuits against Samsung Electronics in the Guongdong and Fujian Provinces on July 6, claiming that Samsung Electronics pay 80 million yuan along with 500,000 yuan in litigation cost.

According to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, 16 products of Samsung Electronics, including the Galaxy S7 smartphone, infringed upon its patents relating to icons in smartphone folders and widget screen display. The Chinese company argued that the State Intellectual Property Office of China has acknowledged its rights associated with the patents since 2011.

This is not the first patent lawsuit between Samsung Electronics and Huawei. In May this year, Huawei filed similar lawsuits with U.S. and Chinese courts, claiming that Samsung Electronics infringed upon its patent related to 4G mobile communications.

T-Mobile is facing litigation against Huawei as well. According to Phone Arena, Huawei is maintaining that T-Mobile infringed its 14 LTE patents and the Chinese company sued the third-largest mobile carrier in the United States as it had turned down an IP licensing request in 2014. In the litigation, Huawei is aiming at an IP licensing contract instead of damages.
