Beauty Expo in Bangkok
The KINTEX announced that they will hold the K-Beauty Expo Bangkok 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand to help Korean cosmetic companies make a foray into the South Asian market.
Thailand is the biggest importer of Korean cosmetic products among Southeast Asian countries. Korea has exported nearly US$100 million worth of cosmetic products to the nation. Korea’s cosmetic exports to ten ASEAN countries have been on a steady rise. They totaled US$300 million last year, accounting for 12% of Korea’s total cosmetic exports last year.
Under the circumstances, Thailand has been chosen as a test market for the ten ASEAN countries since the South East Asian country has been found to love Korean cosmetic products and beauty care products.
Last year, Korea’s total cosmetic product exports stood at US$2.45 billion, more than trebling over the past five years. This means that the Korean cultural wave which originated from Korean TV dramas and music is spreading to the beauty care industry.
At a time when the importance of the ASEAN market is growing in the world economy, it is quite meaningful for the KINEX to push ahead with an overseas exhibition while releasing K-Beauty products for the first time since the opening of its exhibition center. The 2016 K-Beauty EXPO Bangkok will run from September 22 for three days. The event aims to maximize Korean small and mid-sized companies’ business promotion.
VIP-class buyers from the ten ASEAN countries will be invited to the 2016 K-Beauty EXPO Bangkok and be given one on one matching meeting with Korean companies. As the Beyond Beauty ASEAN Bangkok, which will take place with the 2016 K-Beauty EXPO Bangkok during the same period, will invite a total of 250 buyers including the invited 150 buyers.
