LG Electronics announced on May 23 that it held an event to climb a 33-story skyscraper using only LG Electronics’ cordless vacuum cleaner “Cord Zero Cykings (model number: K94SGN)”.

The company said that it conducted the experiment with help of the professional climber to prove the world’s best suction power of the Cord Zero Cykings among cordless vacuum cleaners. Sierra Blair-Coyle, a U.S. extreme climbing champion in 2015, successfully completed the daredevil stunt of climbing the 140-meter-tall building with 33 floors in Songdo, Incheon, by carrying two LG Cord Zero Cykings on her back and using only their suction power.

LG Electronics connected climbing suction plates with air inlets of the Cord Zero Cykings so the suction plates can stick to exterior walls of the building when vacuum cleaners takes in air. The company said the experiment proved the two vacuum cleaners were enough to support about 70 kg, a weight that includes the climber and two cleaners, - 35 kg per unit.

The Cord Zero Cyking is equipped with LG Electronics’ self-developed “smart inverter motor” and LG Chem’s lithium-ion battery, with a maximum suction power of 200 watts, boasting the world-class level of suction power among cordless vacuum cleaners. The smart inverter motor realizes a strong suction force by spinning up to 45,000 times per minute. With its auto moving technology, the vacuum cleaner automatically moves without users’ intervention, relieving strain on the wrist.
