The One Store, which is a combination of the respective mobile app stores of SK Telecom, KT and LG U+, is put into service this month.

The One Store is aiming to achieve a share of at least 40% in the domestic mobile application market in the short term, where Google and Apple are enjoying a market share of more than 85%. At present, approximately 30 million users are using the mobile app stores of the top three South Korean mobile carriers while the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store accounted for about 50% and 22% of the domestic app market sales last year, respectively.

One Store Co., Ltd., which is preparing the service, announced on May 18 that the three app stores are updated from May 24 to become the single app market. The update process is scheduled to be completed in early June and then a large-scale promotional event follows in line with the launching of it.

In the meantime, Naver stops its download service of the Naver App Store on June 1, too. From that date, the Naver App Store is switched to the One Store each time a user attempts to download an app from it. The Naver App Store is to be put out of service in December this year.
