SK Telecom signed an MOU with the Central State Government of Paraguay to supply 10,000 units of its smart learning robot Albert and pilot-launch Smart Robot training program.

SK Telecom announced on May 17 that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Central State Government of Paraguay to supply 10,000 units of its smart learning robot Albert and pilot-launch Smart Robot Coding School.

The Smart Robot Coding School is a training program developed by SK Telecom to allow children to learn how to develop software in a fun and easy way. The two companies plan to open Smart Robot Coding School at all grade schools located in Central State.

Moreover, SK Telecom is in talks with the Paraguay Ministry of Education and Culture to apply the program to grade schools throughout the Latin American country. 

Prior to it on May 11 this year, SK Telecom and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) jointly opened Smart Robot Coding School in Costa Rica as part of their pilot project to enhance children’s learning capability in mathematics. The South Korean telecommunication giant has been providing 1,500 units of Albert to be utilized in 300 grade schools while training 400 teachers and 5,000 students. Based on the results in Costa Rica, SK Telecom and IDBare going to expand the project to the entire Central and South American region.
