‘Sloped’ Washing Machine
Dongbu Daewoo Electronics Corp. announced on May 17 that it has started selling its “slpoed drum” washing machine in major countries, like Saudi Arabia, China and Russia, from last week and it is planning to expand its sales to 20 countries around the world, including Central and South America, Asia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
The Klasse drum washer, which was released at the end of March, has a drum which is tilted by 10 degrees and located 11.5 centimeters higher compared to existing products. With such an ergonomic design, the product minimizes users’ back and knee fatigue when they bend down putting in and taking out of laundry.
Since it is 63 cementers wide, the Klasse front-load washer is the smallest one among other drum washers with the same capacity, maximizing the space efficiency.
With an automatic liquid detergent and softener dispenser on the top of the machine, users can wash a laundry load of up to 5 kg 20 times, on average, once they fill the dispenser with detergents.
Dongbu Daewoo Electronics, which has been targeting the low and middle priced market with its existing economical products, is now planning to target the premium washing machine market in earnest with the inclined front-load washing machine this time after global platform top-load washing machine released last year.
