Korea-China Peace Project

The Voluntary Agency Network of Korea (VANK) announced that it would launch the Korea-China Peace Project against the anti-Korean rallies that have been staged in Japan since the election of Tokyo as the host city for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. Since the election, Japanese extremists have shouted abuse and insults at Korea while waving rising sun flags in the street and claiming that the subsidies for Korean schools in Japan be stopped.

“The right-wing extremists halted their rallies for two months during the campaigns in the IOC,” said Park Ki-tae, head of the VANK. He added, “However, they’ve resumed the protests upon Japan being elected as the host city, which is downright shameless.”

VANK is planning to increase the awareness of Japan’s past war crimes among international students, resident employees, entrepreneurs, and tourists staying in China. In this context, it is going to open English and Chinese language websites on the militaristic history of Japan before the end of this month.
