The 30th Icheon Ceramic Festival, Korea’s biggest ceramic festival, will be held at Seolbong Park in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, from Apr. 29 to May 22.

Marking the 30th anniversary this year, Icheon City will provide a wider variety of programs with a theme of “Past 30, Next 30” than ever.

Earlier, YMCA and Icheon Ceramic Festival Committee jointly hosted a flea market at Seolbong Park on the 9th. At the event, they opened booths that allowed visitors to try turning a spinning wheel and make pottery ahead of the festival, offering an opportunity to learn about Icheon Ceramic Festival.

Moreover, potters in Icheon showed how to turn a spinning wheel in person and visitors and potters worked together on jiggering at the flea market, attracting attention.

During the 30th Icheon Ceramic Festival, there will be various special exhibitions and international ceramic workshops and symposiums.

Icheon mayor Cho Byung-don said, “In a bid to promote the 30th Icheon Ceramic Festival, we had promotional events in Lotte Premium Outlet in Icheon on the 16th. Also, we are planning to open booths that enable people to experience jiggering at Icheon Culture Street on the 23rd and raise celebration atmosphere of Icheon Ceramic Festival.”
