With a theme of “Flower and Lake; Chorus of New Hallyu Art,” the International Horticulture Goyang Korea 2016 will be held at Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang City from April 29 to May 15

The expo takes place in Goyang city every year. Last year, it attracted 550,000 visitors and saw its floricultural product exports reach US$ 33.58 million (38.4 billion won), hitting the jackpot.

This year, the event will be participated in by 30 countries, including Ecuador, Taiwan, Thailand, South Africa and Kenya, expecting another success. The country zone, which will display each country’s flowering plants and new plant varieties to visitors at home and abroad, is to be located at the International Trade Pavilion 1 in the indoor event hall.

China’s Kunming City, the biggest flower wholesale market in the nation, and the Shanghai Botanical Garden will take part in the expo. The booth, which reproduces the Arch of traditional Yunnan features, will be beautifully decorated with Kunming’s major flowers, such as carnation and rose, and the Shanghai Botanical Garden booth will introduce China’s traditional floral design made by Chinese florists.

Vietnam’s flower City Dalat will show a new variety of the First Class chrysanthemum, while Sabah Parks, which is located in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, will exhibit wild insectivorous plants in Sabah city.

Moreover, numerous flowers grown in a superb climate in South America, such as Ecuador’s high quality rose and Columbia’s hydrangea, and Taiwan’s tropical orchid will be put on display. For Greece, flower designers will create a special garden that worships spring with a theme of “Anthesteria,” a flower festival which has come down from ancient Greece.
