CJ Group chairman Sohn Kyung-shik met with Wang Xiankui, secretary of China’s Heilongjiang province, at the CJ E&M headquarters in northwestern Seoul on Apr. 11 to discuss ways to expand their collaborative partnership in the realms of business and culture.

Secretary Wang Xiankui and his party, who are visiting Korea from the 10th, toured the Creative Center for Convergence Culture located in the CJ E&M headquarters on 11th and watched 4DX video content, experiencing CJ Group’s culture content.

Secretary Wang Xiankui said, “CJ Group has the great strength in the culture business sector and is actively conducting business in China as well. Through an extensive exchange and cooperation in the future, we expect that active investment will be made in Heilongjiang province.”

Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik replied, “We will make every effort to expand the employment and grow the local economy by continuously expanding our businesses in Heilongjiang province. Please offer us much support so that CJ can become a company that wins more hearts from Chinese consumers.”

 CJ Group first entered the Chinese market in 1994. Since then, the group has engaged in businesses in four sectors – food and food service, biotechnology, new logistics and entertainment and media. Also, it is seeking to expand hallyu and globalize Korean food with a goal of establishing “the second CJ.” CJ Group currently operates an animal feed factory boasting annual output of 70,000 tons and three CGV movie theaters in Harbin, Heilongjiang province.
