Hanwha Techwin is joining hands with software and image monitoring companies in the U.K. to push into the global remote medical care and image monitoring market.

The company announced on Apr. 7 that it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with British-based health monitoring software developer Oxehealth and image monitoring information provider Veracity one after another.

Oxehealth develops software that monitors bio signals, such as respiration and heart rate. Hanwha Techwin is planning to develop a remote medical care service by combining its high resolution camera and Oxehealth’s intelligent video analytics technology.

The global telemedicine market is forecast to grow to US$4.5 billion (5.19 trillion won) by 2018, according to the company.

Moreover, Hanwha Techwin will be supplied high-performance image monitoring information storage devices from Veracity, targeting the global medium and large image monitoring device market in earnest.

An official from Hanwha Techwin said, “The global image monitoring market will grow from the current 19 trillion won (US$16.46 billion) to 26 trillion won (US$22.53 billion) in 2019. Based on the partnership with global leading companies, Hanwha Techwin will make every effort to become the number one in the domestic image monitoring market as well as the global market.”
