The Rotary Club with 1.2 million members around the world will hold 2016 Rotary International Seoul Convention in Seoul, Korea.
The 2016 Rotary International Seoul Convention will be held in the KINTEX, Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province with the participation of about 50,000 people from May 28 through June 1. About 25,000 people, the half of all participants will visit Seoul during the event period and will have an opportunity to take a tour of palaces, Dongdaemun Market, Cheonggyecheon, Bukchon Hanok Village, Insa-dong and so on, and enjoy shopping.
The opening ceremony will signal the start of the convention’s official events at 10: 15 a.m. on May 29. The Young Leaders Summit (YLS) will open in the Grand Ballroom from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on May 27. The event will serve as a place for young people from 535 districts around the world to discuss global challenges facing the world in the future of humanity and explore solutions for them under the theme of "Our challenge: World Future & Rotary.”
Other major events will include divisional sessions and workshops, the 3K Peace Walk, exhibitions (House of Friendship), volunteer service, HOC events (the Welcome Festival and cultural events), service projects, and the Host's Hospitality Night, the Rotary Family Talent Show, tourism programs, district contests and unofficial events by country and region. The event will end with its closing ceremony at 5 p.m. after a luncheon for the 2017 Rotary International Atlanta Convention at 1 p.m. on June 1. The 2017 World Congress will be held in Atlanta with the United States as the host nation.
