Korea East-West Power Corp. announced on March 22 that it held an export consultation meeting in India, along with its three small and mid-size partner companies, in order to tap into the Indian power market. In particular, the three participating companies won nine orders worth US$2.3 million (2.67 billion won) from India’s Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

BHEL is the state-run power plant equipment manufacturer in India and is in charge of engineering, construction and test operation.

With the success of winning contracts in India, Korea East-West Power will form an export consultative group for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to help them win projects in India. It will also build a local office with SMEs to expand exports to India.

In addition, the company is planning to participate in expos, hold export consulting meetings and invite potential buyers this year in a bid to open new overseas markets for its leading domestic partner SMEs.
