Samsung Electronics’ brand-new Galaxy Gear is drawing worldwide attention, but the company is becoming concerned that it is unintentionally eclipsing the Galaxy Note 3.

On September 4 (local time), the electronics manufacturer unveiled the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Gear and the Galaxy Note 10.1 at the Samsung Unpack 2013 Episode 2 event in Berlin, Germany. Although the Galaxy Note 3 was supposed to be at the front of the line, the participants focused much more on the Galaxy Gear. The Galaxy Gear is a smart watch similar to that of Sony, released last year and Qualcomm’s Toq unveiled on the same day. “Samsung Electronics has now become the first mover in the very meaning of the word by launching a smart watch,” AllThingsD.com commented.

This is not welcome news for Samsung Electronics, as it is the Galaxy Note 3, not the Galaxy Gear, on which the company is focusing its marketing resources. In fact, it is said that the manufacturer scratched its head over whether or not to unveil the smart watch during the event for the same reason. However, the high interest in the concept design of the product could not disregard. Besides, Apple is expected to come up with its own iWatch sooner or later.

Samsung emphasized that the Galaxy Gear was not an independent device, but an accessory linked to the Galaxy Note 3, and unveiled the former after the latter to so as to ensure that visitors were more interested in the flagship smart phone.
