Dokdo Guidebook

 

In a bid to offer more detailed information about the current condition and history of Dokdo Islets to foreigners, North Gyeongsang Province has published 4,000 copies of the pocket-sized English pamphlet called “Everything You Need To Know About DOKDO.”

The brochure talks about general information from the current condition to history and future, and it is pocket sized so that you can carry and read anytime anywhere.

With seven pages, it contains the general conditions of Dokdo, history of Dokdo ownership, the establishment of the Government of the Republic of Korea and Dokdo, Korea’s management and use of Dokdo, history and current conditions of Japan’s dispossession of Dokdo, future of Dokdo and addendum.

In order to help foreigners understand better, the booklet has a lot of pictures, including chronology of Dokdo, toponym, aerial view of Dokdo, spindle trees in Dokdo, Korean flag in Dokdo, and maps and historical materials, such as “Eight State Map”, SCAPIN 677 and document of Japan.

For those who are interested in, North Gyeongsang Province has posted the English pamphlet file on the website of “Cyber Dokdo” (www.dokdo.go.kr), which is run by the province.
