The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) has opened a Korean Pavilion at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, which began on Jan. 6 in Las Vegas. At the Korean Pavilion, 35 small and mid-size Korean IT companies showcased their ideas and technologies.

CES 2016 is being participated in by about 3,600 companies from 150 countries around the globe and attended by more than 165,000 visitors, becoming the biggest ever event. At the exhibition this year, global leading companies have unveiled cutting-edge products such as the Internet of Things (IoT), automotive electronic products, smart homes and wearable devices.

Former’s Farm, which is taking part in the Korean Pavilion, is displaying a user-friendly 3D printer. In particular, the company has attracted attention from buyers and visitors with its affordable price even for consumers who are reluctant to buy due to the high prices of existing products.

Moreover, Ido Link, which is participating in the Korean Pavilion for the first time, unveiled an all-in-one smart device charging station called “Mr. Everything”, which can charge a smartphone, tablet and notebook computer at the same time. The product won the 2016 CES Innovation Award in the portable power category, one of the most prestigious awards in the IT sector, earning favorable reviews.

In addition, visitors are paying attention to various products with high technologies such as the Auto Connector’s portable wireless charger, 3Eyewear’s IT and streaming communications technologies, and Prinics’ portable photo printer.

In a bid to obtain substantial results from the participating companies, KOTRA invited 400 major American retailers and wholesalers, including Walmart, Amazon, Newegg, Target and Costco, to the Korean Pavilion, and arranged one-on-one consultations with the participating companies. Notably, Newegg, the largest IT e-commerce retailer in North America, designated Jan. 8 as Newegg Day. Accordingly, the state-run agency will send three employees in the purchasing division to the Korean Pavilion on the day and carry out purchasing consultations with the participating Korean companies in order to examine the possibility of product sourcing.
