Hanwha Galleria, a retail unit under the Hanwha Group, has partially opened its first duty-free store at the 63 City Building in Yeouido, Seoul on Dec. 28, its debut into the duty free business.

With the title of “Beginning of the Golden Journey,” Galleria Duty Free 63 will feature a total of 369 cosmetics and luxury designer brands. Hanwha said it plans to continue its efforts to develop the Yeouido and Yeongdeungpo areas, the locations of its duty-free stores, as new developed tourist hubs, just like Manhattan in the U.S.

Galleria Duty Free 63 will be open all year round, and its business hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

To celebrate its opening, Galleria Duty Free 63 announced a “Golden Package” promotional event for all customers for 63 days from Dec. 28 to Feb. 28 2016, symbolizing the number of floors in the Hanwha 63 City building.

As a major giveaway event, “Five Kinds of Flame Package” will be given to 10 customers, including one accompanying person, allowing them to enjoy a special dinner and fireworks on its VIP cruise ship on the day of the Seoul International Fireworks Festival 2016.

In addition, Galleria Duty Free 63 will offer a voucher for a free one-night stay at the deluxe room of The Plaza Hotel, a Galleria Gift Certificate worth 630,000 won (US$540), which is accepted at the Galleria Duty Free 63 and Galleria Department Store, and a VIP card of Galleria Duty Free 63. Furthermore, UnionPay card users will get 10,000 won (US$9) off on any purchase of US$200 (233,200 won) or more.
