Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee left Samsung Seoul Hospital on August 23, two weeks after being treated for pneumonia symptoms. He is planning to stay with his family for a while to further recover his health.
The chairman is expected to resume outside activities on September 7, when he is scheduled to participate in the IOC general assembly held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The dinner party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the declaration of new management of the Samsung Group has been postponed from August 23 to next month due to his slower-than-expected recovery.
It is said that he is not going to take part in the meeting between President Park Geun-hye and the heads of large business groups slated for August 28 in the President’s office. The Samsung Group is planning to send high-ranking executive officers instead, allowing for his physical condition.
