Park Jin-sun, CEO of Sempio Foods Co., a company with more-than-60 years of fermentation expertise, won the Best CEO award at the 22nd Business Innovation Awards held in the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Seoul, on Nov. 30. Sempio also received the KCCI Chairman Award in the business sector, becoming the double prize winner.

Hosted by the KCCI and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), the 22nd Business Innovation Awards is designed to improve business competitiveness by seeking and spreading examples of business innovation.

Park received a favorable evaluation in the category to pursue sustainable growth through change and innovation with social consciousness. The examiners, who conducted on-site reviews, said it was impressive to see executives and employees working with voluntary motivation and pride.

With the change of times, Park is seeking a paradigm shift from “products” to “core competency” in fermentation and to “value orientation” of Korean food globalization.

Coming to the turning point, Sempio is pursuing a new value “Korean food globalization” with a vision of “making people around the world happy with Korean taste.” The examiners said that the company is steadily seeking a qualitative growth as a global leading company through change and innovation.
