Research results show that Apple's iPhone 6+ has the longest battery life. The results are drawing a lot of attention, since the battery life of a mobile device is generally acknowledged be related to the storage capacity of the handset.

The iPhone 6+ lasts longer than any other premium phone according to market research firm Strategy Analytics on Sept. 21.

Apple hasn't disclosed the storage capacity of a battery per model, but the iPhone 6+ is presumed to have a 2,915mAh battery. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 4 in the runner-up position has a 3,220mAh battery, and the G4 in the third spot has a 3,000mAh battery. It shows that battery life expectancy is “in inverse proportion” to the storage capacity of a battery.

The iPhone 6, which presumably has a 1810mAh battery, the smallest storage capacity, also lasted longer than Nokia's Lumia 930 with a 2,420mAh battery and HTC's One M9 with a 35,00mAh battery.

Strategy Analytics tested the flagship models of major smartphone makers like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Huawei, HTC, Google, Nokia, and Sony.
