Officials of Uzbekistan's Information and Telecmmunication Development office, LG CNS, and Unicon pose for the LG CNS Uzbekistan Opening Ceremony event on Sept. 14.

LG CNS has established a joint venture with the MDITC of Uzbekistan in charge of developing and implementing information technology policies in an effort to spur its business in major Uzbek IT markets such as e-government systems and solar power generation.

On Sept. 16, LG CNS announced that the company established LG CNS Uzbekistan LLC with Uz Telecom and Unicon, two government-run companies under the MDITC. LG CNS Uzbekistan will carry out all projects of the MDITC in charge of private and public IT projects in Uzbekistan.

The company is now building data systems for individuals and corporations. In addition, LG CNS Uzbekistan is preparing to implement projects on an e-government platform project, integrated tax systems of the Taxation Commission (this is equivalent to Korea’s National Tax Service), Tashkent transport cards, digital library construction, KOGAS ERP, and billing systems for Uz Woods.

The company also saw eye to eye with the MDITC to cooperate in smart technology sectors such as solar power generation and smart green cities.

LG CNS will transfer processes, methodologies, IT business systems, education programs, and solutions to the MDITC. LG CNS is planning to successfully operate the joint venture, and based on this success, will make a foray into other Central Asian countries.
