The Global Innovator Festa 2015, a competition for ICT-based ideas involving young people around the world, will be held at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (Exco) in Daegu from Oct. 1 to 4.
This event will be hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and organized by a consortium of the Daegu City Government consisting of the Daegu Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, the Daegu Digital Industry Promotion Agency, and the National Information Society Agency.
The Daegu City Government selected a panel of judges for GIF2015 and held an appointment ceremony. Vice Mayor of Economic Affairs Kim Yeon-chang, representatives of organizers, and the new head of the judging panel attended the ceremony.
Jung Yong-bin, the head of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, was appointed as the head of the judging panel. Previously, Mr. Jung served as the head of Samsung Electronics Design Center and Daegu Gyeongbuk Design Center, as well as the Managing Director General at Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
In the meantime, an official at the Daegu City Government said that more than 100,000 people are expected to participate in the nation's largest ICT festival, which is intended for those who want to start a business at home and abroad.
