Global brand Chevrolet starts full-fledged sales today with the official launch of ‘THE NEW TRAILBLAZER’ in Korea.

Debuted in the global market in 2020, the Chevrolet Trailblazer is a model that sets the standard for a premium compact SUV with unique designs that can be selected according to consumers' lifestyles, a high-efficiency, eco-friendly light-sizing engine, and advanced safety and convenient features. Trailblazer has sold more than 620,000 units in the global market since its launch and, as such, is evaluated as a model that has achieved global success, ranking first in export volume among domestic passenger vehicles by June 2023.

"The New Trailblazer" is a complete SUV with enhanced marketability through an overall facelift, close to full change, with a more sophisticated exterior and a brand-new interior. It best represents Chevrolet's compact SUV which will continue to succeed in the global market, including Korea.

"The New Trailblazer has all the elements that represent Chevrolet's flagship and American authentic SUV, including outstanding engineering capabilities created by expertise acquired in the US and Canadian markets, and solid reliability capable of driving in any environment," Rempel said. "I truly feel confident recommending the new Trailblazer to anyone, including my family and friends, not because I work for GM but because I know it's an outstanding vehicle. I deeply believe it is the best compact SUV in the market."

Refined exterior design and new exterior color

The New Trailblazer is partially redesigned and incorporates Chevrolet's latest design language and family look to create a more refined and advanced design.

At the front, Chevrolet's signature dual-port grille has taken a new place. The chrome grille bars that run across the top and bottom of the radiator grille are now thicker for a stronger impression, while the LED daytime running lights at the top are thinner than before for an aggressive, sharp, and futuristic look. Also, the LED projection headlamps are now a standard feature, and the rear is equipped with a tail lamp with new LED graphics.

The New Trailblazer also carries over the trim-specific design strategy that was so well received in the previous model. Customers can choose from a variety of designs and colors that differentiate the basic model from the RS and ACTIV trims, which reflect different personalities and lifestyles in the design.

The RS trim, an acronym for Rally Sports, emphasizes the vehicle's sporty look based on design elements containing Chevrolet's racing heritage. On the exterior, the Chevrolet black bow tie emblem and RS badge are applied to the front and rear. The radiator grill is equipped with a black ice chrome grill bar and a gloss black radiator grill. In addition, optional features are applied to the lower part of the bumper to realize an "aggressive" design like a race car, along with a black carbon deco lower fascia, 18-inch RS-specific machined alloy wheels, and dual mufflers. The switchable AWD package comes with upgraded features with a 19-inch carbon flash machined alloy wheel.

The ACTIV trim is optimized for outdoor activities and features a tough, rugged design inside and out. Like the RS trim, it features a Chevrolet black bowtie emblem and titanium chrome grille bars and grille inserts on the radiator grille. It also features a thicker chrome lower bumper garnish and dual mufflers to emphasize the rugged look, as well as 18-inch ACTIV-specific machined alloy wheels.

In addition, the RS and ACTIV trims offer a wide range of exterior colors. The RS is available in eight exterior colors, including Snow White Pearl, Milan Red, Savage Blue, Sterling Gray, and Modern Black, as well as Pistachio Khaki, Urban Yellow, and Toffee Nut Brown, while the roof color is a stunning Modern Black.

ACTIV is available in six exterior colors, including Snow White Pearl, Savage Blue, Sterling Gray, and Modern Black, as well as Pistachio Khaki and Urban Yellow, while the roof color is Pure White.

The interior design is also different for each trim level. The RS trim features a D-cut steering wheel, RS logo headrests, and a Jet Black & Red accent color combination for a sporty feel.

ACTIV, on the other hand, has a round steering wheel, ACTIV logo headrests, and a Jet Black & Artemis accent color combination to give a strong and rugged off-roader feel.

All-new interior with two large displays

The interior design of The New Trailblazer has undergone an overall facelift, close to a full change, for a complete renewal. The instrument panel has undergone a major layout change from a dual-cockpit design to a more driver-focused design, in response to younger consumers who value personalized space.

The interior features an 8-inch color cluster and a central 11-inch color touchscreen, both of which are configured toward the driver. The center air vent and the emergency button have been moved to the bottom of the center touchscreen, and a variety of materials and graphics were used in the interior to create a more luxurious and unique interior.

Based on the RS and ACTIV trims, The New Trailblazer has a semi-mid-sized body with a total length of 4,425mm, a maximum height of 1,670mm, and a width of 1,81 mm. It has secured more expansive interior space with a wide wheelbase of 2,640 mm.

There's plenty of legroom and headroom in the first and second rows, and a standard 460-liter trunk with a two-level luggage floor that can be adjusted in two different heights. Add to that the 6:4 split-folding second-row seats and the cargo space can be expanded to 1,470 liters.

More advanced infotainment systems and advanced comfort and safety features

The New Trailblazer features an advanced infotainment system and a host of advanced convenience and safety features befitting a full-size SUV.

For starters, it comes standard with wireless phone projection to wirelessly connect your smartphone to the infotainment system via an 11-inch color touchscreen, a wireless smartphone charging system, Bose® Premium 7 speakers, heated and ventilated first-row seats, heated second-row seats, rain-sensing wipers and more.

The New Trailblazer is further enhanced by premium options rarely found in models of the same class, including Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) for a quieter indoor environment, Active Aero Shutters that open and close the radiator grille to enhance aerodynamics when conditions warrant, a panoramic sunroof that offers a great sense of openness, and a Chevy Bowtie Projection hands-free power liftgate that easily opens the trunk with a simple kick motion.

Chevrolet's advanced safety features start at the basic trim level. Six airbags, StabiliTrak® Vehicle Stability Control, Tire Pressure Monitoring, Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Head-Up LED Warning (RLAD), Low Speed Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist, advanced active safety features to help prevent accidents including forward pedestrian detection and braking, are available from the LT trim. The optional Drive Assist package includes adaptive cruise control (including stop & restart) to maintain distance between cars, lane change and blind spot warning system, and rear cross-traffic warning system.

High-rigidity, lightweight body and powertrain that satisfies both power and fuel economy

The Trailblazer is known for incorporating GM's latest technologies into its body and powertrain. The New Trailblazer also utilizes GM's technology to create a highly rigid, lightweight body.

This is due to GM's advanced design process, "Smart Engineering," which utilizes computer simulations from the design stage to strengthen the body in load-bearing areas and reduce weight in non-load-bearing areas.

The engine is equipped with a 1.35-liter gasoline E-Turbo engine applied with GM's advanced Rightsizing technology, which the previous model has proven. The maximum output is 156 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 24.1 kg.m. It has secured the maximum power equivalent to a 2-liter naturally aspirated engine and torque performance that surpasses it.

The front-wheel-drive model of The New Trailblazer is equipped with the efficiency-maximizing VT40 continuously variable transmission, which delivers an impressive 12.9km/L (based on 17-inch tires), while the 4-wheel-drive model is matched with a Hydramatic 9-speed automatic transmission, securing a compliant combined fuel economy of 11.6 km/L (based on 18-inch tires). Plus, with three low-emission vehicle certifications, drivers can take advantage of public parking discounts and more.

As an authentic American SUV, The New Trailblazer provides a four-wheel drive option to ensure excellent on-road driving performance as well as stable traction off-road.

In particular, the Switchable AWD system, which features GM's advanced powertrain technologies, allows the driver to switch between FWD (front-wheel drive) and AWD (four-wheel drive) modes with the simple press of an on/off button while driving.

Unlike conventional AWD, The New Trailblazer's AWD system can be driven in FWD mode by disconnecting power to the propeller shaft in certain driving conditions, automatically switching between FWD for efficiency and AWD for harsh road conditions. In addition, the four-wheel drive model is equipped with a Z-link rear suspension system for smoother and more stable driving performance.

The New Trailblazer, which will continue to build on the success of the premium compact SUV in global markets with an evolved look, is priced at KRW 26.99 million for LT, KRW 27.99 million for Premier, KRW 30.99 million for ACTIV, and KRW 30.99 million for RS.
