On July 16, Lee In-ho, president of the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE), and Yoon Hee-sung, president of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) announced that on July 13 (local time) they signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) for enhancing economic cooperation and activating financial cooperation with Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, the president of Poland’s Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) at its headquarters in Warsaw, Poland.

The business agreement signed by the three institutions includes strengthening financial support for infrastructure, transportation, and renewable energy, which are key cooperation areas; joint financial support for the third-country expansion of both countries’ companies; and human resource exchange between institutions.

Poland, one of Korea’s top three exporting countries within the European Union, has seen an increase in domestic companies entering high-tech strategic industries such as batteries.

Following on the successful exports of defense assets to Poland, K-SURE and Korea Eximbank, which have continued their cooperative relationship with BGK, pushed for this business agreement to explore new cooperative projects and strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.

“Poland, which has the largest domestic market in Eastern Europe, is a stepping stone for our companies to expand their export territories,” said President Lee. “I hope this agreement will further solidify the economic cooperation foundation with Poland.”
