Mercedes-Benz has cut the price of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class by up to 11 million won from June. This is largely due to BMW’s May promotion to sell its vehicles at prices up to 10 million won or more off, depending on the models.

On July 9, Mercedes-Benz is offering up to US$11 million in discounts for consumers who purchase the E350 Exclusive and AMG models, according to sources in the automotive industry and dealers. The prices of the vehicles, which are 90.5 million won (US$69,358) and 94.1 million won, respectively, will drop to 79.5 million won and 83.1 million won with cash purchases or the use of Benz finance services.

The E250, an E-Class gasoline entry line, will sell with 6.8 million won off for the Exclusive model and up to 6.9 million won off for the AMG model. Their selling prices are 66.1 million won and 69.2 million won, respectively.

They are similarly priced with the 2023 model of Hyundai’s Genesis sedan, the G80, with a gasoline Turbo 3.5 engine starting at 62 million won. The addition of various options can push up the G80’s selling price to 85 million won.

The Korean market for premium e-segment (mid-size) sedans to which both models belong is about 150,000 units a year, including the Genesis. In terms of premium e-segment sedans priced above 60 million won, Korea is evaluated as the world’s second largest market after China.
