On July 6, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that its minister, Lee Young, held a meeting with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, in the 63 Building in Yeouido, Seoul, to discuss strengthening the cooperation between small and medium-sized venture businesses.

The ministers first met when they signed a business agreement regarding SME and startup cooperation during President Yoon Suk-yeol’s state visit to the UAE in January. They reunited last month at a large-scale trade, technology, and investment consultation between the two countries held in Dubai.

This meeting was arranged once again in Seoul to further discuss future cooperation between the two ministries in a more concrete manner.

During the meeting, ways for SMEs and startups of both countries to cooperate based on the exchange between Korea’s representative startup festival COMEUP and the UAE’s investment networking event Investopia were discussed.
