SK telecom (SKT) announced that “K-Artificial Intelligence (AI) Alliance” partner representatives, including President Yoo Young-sang, gathered in Silicon Valley in the U.S. on June 16 to discuss ways to enhance business cooperation to lead the global AI ecosystem.

The K-AI Alliance now consists of 11 member companies, including Korean AI companies CMES, MakinaRocks, Scatterlab, and FriendliAI. At the K-AI Alliance Unite event, key executives, including President Yoo, shared their AI transition vision and business plans with the representatives of the partner companies.

CMES, an AI robotics software development company, exchanged views on the development of a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) pricing plan and how to utilize the AI-based RaaS subscription business model for enterprises. RaaS is attracting attention as an alternative to additional manpower and infrastructure investment in automation for companies.

In April, SKT invested 15 billion won (US$12 million) in Scatterlab and plans to launch an emotive conversation AI agent within the AI chatbot “A.Dot” service. SKT also shared AI core technology and synergy strategies with industrial AI company MakinaRocks and AI development platform company FriendliAI.
