Hanwha announced on June 16 that it will participate in the Paris Airshow, which will be held at Le Bourget Airport near Paris, France, from the June 19 to 25.

Hanwha Aerospace and Hanwha Systems will operate a unified exhibition hall and run the Space Zone, Air Mobility Zone, and Air Zone, gathering the group’s capabilities in the space industry value chain including “launch vehicles, satellite bodies, satellite services.”

In the Space Zone, Hanwha will unveil the blueprint for a Hyperconnected Defense Solution that shares the real-time battlefield situation on land, sea, and air through a low orbit communication satellite network.

It plans to observe the battlefield situation with Micro SAR Satellites, which Hanwha Systems is the first to develop, and share real-time battlefield information using a low-orbit military communication satellite network made up of OneWeb satellites that it invested in back in 2021.

Specifically, the Micro SAR Satellite can clearly observe the ground even in bad weather, and it has the advantage of being able to launch multiple satellites at once due to its miniaturization and light weight.

Hanwha Aerospace will display a model of the Korean launch vehicle Nuri, which successfully launched a practical satellite into orbit last month. Hanwha Aerospace, which produced key components such as the engine of the Nuri, was selected as an integrated systems enterprise at the end of last year, and plans to be in charge of the overall production and launch operations of the Nuri in collaboration with the Korea Aerospace Research Institute in the future.

In the Air Mobility Zone, a model of the “Butterfly,” an urban air mobility (UAM) aircraft for six passengers jointly developed by Hanwha Systems and the American company Overair, will be displayed. Hanwha Systems plans to complete the production of eco-friendly UAM prototypes by the end of this year and begin unmanned flight tests in the United States early next year.
