Summer for the City

SK Group will sponsor a large-scale art festival and Korean cultural event in New York City this summer.

According to the SK Supex Council on May 14, SK E&S, SKC, SK On, SK C&C, and SK E&C will be the main sponsors of the Lincoln Center’s Summer for the City, which will run in New York City from June 14 to Aug. 12.

The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City will host the event for the second time this year, presenting more than 200 free programs by artists from around the world. Last year, more than 300,000 people enjoyed a variety of cultural events including visual arts, music, dance, and plays.

This year, the programmer added a Korean Arts Week program to reflect people’s growing interest in Korean culture. Events ranging from Korea’s traditional dance performances to digital art will take place during the week of July 19-23.

The sponsorship will mark the first time SK’s core management strategy, Global Story, is applied to a large-scale cultural project. Global Story is a management strategy that aims to create win-win business models that gain sympathy with local stakeholders. The idea is to receive respect and understandings from all stakeholders and pursue their happiness together with them to ensure business sustainability.
