Increased ATM Demand

Nautilus Hyosung, the Hyosung Group’s arm manufacturing ATMs, recently put its manufacturing facilities in Haizhu, China into operation. The annual capacity of the 25,000 m2-wide factory is planned to be raised to 7,500 by 2018. This factory is Nautilus Hyosung’s second manufacturing facility, the other one being located in Gumi, Korea. The purpose of the plant in China is to meet an increase in global demand. Nautilus Hyosung is expecting that a large number of American banks will replace their machines in the near future.

The company has exported ATMs to the United States since 1998, and set up a local office there seven years ago. More recently, it released hybrid ATMs in the U.S., which are characterized by remote assistance via a screen. According to market research firm RBR, Nautilus Hyosung recorded a cumulative supply volume of 124,000 in the U.S. as of the end of 2013, posting a market share of 28.7 percent and taking the first place for the first time.

The company has ranked first in the Indonesian market as well by recording a share of more than 40 percent. In the first half of 2014, it was selected as the main supplier by national Bank Rakyat Indonesia and Bank Central Asia, which is one of the largest privately-operated banks in Indonesia. At present, Nautilus Hyosung exports its products to about 30 countries across the world while running local offices in Dallas, Ohio, Beijing, Moscow, Mumbai, and Jakarta.
