The K-pop group TWICE

The market cap of JYP Entertainment topped three trillion won with a new international girl group about to debut in the United States.

The KOSDAQ-listed company’s stock price has risen 26.4 percent this year. The price hit an all-time high of 88,300 won (US$66.42) and the market cap topped three trillion won on April 17. The latter topped two trillion won just eight months ago.

This is being led by foreign investors. Their net buying in this company since the beginning of this year is 275 billion won (US$207 million), the biggest in KOSDAQ. For reference, their second pick is SM Entertainment, approximately 175 billion won (US$132 million). Their shareholding in JYP Entertainment reached an all-time high of 44.3 percent on April 17.

Back in 2017, its annual operating profit stood at 10 billion won or so. Last year, its operating profit was 96.6 billion won (US$72.7 million). Its 2023 operating profit is estimated at 132.8 billion won (US$99.9 million).
