Incheon International Airport Corporation, Israel Aerospace Industries and Sharp Technics K signed a contract on April 17 regarding passenger-to-freighter conversion.

Israel Aerospace Industries, which is state-owned, is a global leader in passenger-to-cargo aircraft conversion. Sharp Technics K is a South Korean maintenance, repair, and overhaul service provider. The contract is to build Israel Aerospace Industries’ first overseas production base.

According to the contract, the first passenger-to-freighter conversion facility at the airport will be built by 2025 and the second by 2030 to handle Boeing B777s and Airbus A330s, respectively.

According to the corporation, four planes can be simultaneously handled in each facility, and the Israeli and South Korean companies will set up a joint corporation to start the business in 2025.
