SK ecoplant announced that its North American subsidiary, SK ecoplant Americas, has successfully completed an EPC project to supply solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) to hospital facilities with Bloom Energy.

SK ecoplant is carrying out a project to supply 2.7 MW fuel cells to Stamford health facilities such as Stamford Hospital and Tully Health Center located in the state of Connecticut in the U.S.

SK ecoplant aims to strengthen its position as a fuel cell-based power supplier to mission-critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, and financial systems. To this end, SK ecoplant plans to actively utilize the value chain, such as the development of the fuel cell business and the development of application technologies for EPC, heat supply, and fuel diversification among others. SK ecoplant Americas’ EPC expertise is also used to target the North American market with great growth potential.

Bloom Energy cooperating with SK ecoplant has advanced technology for production of SOFCs, which are the most efficient among fuel cells. It supplies power to about 600 customers around the world that need large amounts of electric power.
