Strategic Rebranding
POSCO Chemical has changed its name to POSCO Future M with the goal of transforming itself into a future materials company.
POSCO Chemical confirmed the name change to POSCO Future M at a general shareholders’ meeting held at the Pohang headquarters on March 20. It contains the meaning of leading the world’s movements through competitive materials and taking a leading role (Management) in creating an affluent future (Future).
POSCO Group, which has developed from the steel business, is pushing for a transformation into a leading eco-friendly future materials company with the launch of a holding company last year. At the center, POSCO Future M is positioned as the major operating company.
POSCO Future M is in charge of the secondary battery material business among the seven core businesses of POSCO Group. As the secondary battery business has recently been selected as a core business field that will lead the future of the country, such as semiconductors, future cars, and robots, POSCO Future M is expected to play a bigger role in POSCO Group.
