Busan City held a press tour on March 7 to provide information on its preparations for World Expo 2030. The tour was joined by a number of journalists and reporters from the Washington Times, Daily Telegraph, NHK, EFE, CAN, Politiken, and others.

Busan City Mayor Park Hyung-joon gave a presentation on why the city should become the venue and how it can host the event successfully. The mayor had a Q&A session with the participants, and then they looked around sites in the city prepared for the expo.

“The UN forces entered the Korean Peninsula via Busan during the Korean War and, after the war, it was a port for receiving relief supplies,” the mayor said, adding, “The city has developed rapidly since then and it is now aiming to host World Expo 2030 so the world can be connected closer.”
