HMM announced on March 6 that it will provide free shipping services for Korean relief goods and residential container boxes to Türkiye, which has suffered from recent massive earthquakes.

HMM, the only Korean shipping company providing regular European services, started transporting relief supplies of 50 TEUs (one TEU: one container with a length of 6 meters) from Busan Port to the Mersin Port of Türkiye on March 3.

On Mar. 17, about 20 TEUs of relief goods will be transported, and additional transport will be actively carried out after consultations with the Turkish Embassy in Korea.

HMM will also provide 150 residential container boxes free of charge. Residential container boxes deployed this time will be used as various spaces such as temporary accommodations for local victims in Türkiye.

HMM will support the transportation of mobile container boxes used as accommodations during the Qatar World Cup in 2022. The Middle East kingdom announced its intention to donate the container boxes. HMM plans to transport 570 containers from Hamad, Qatar to Iskenderun, Türkiye via multi-purpose vessels.
