New Name to Be Finalized at Shareholders' Meeting on March 20
POSCO Chemical will change its name to POSCO Future M.
The company's board of directors approved a plan to change the company name to POSCO Future M at a meeting on Feb. 24. The new name will be confirmed at the regular general shareholders’ meeting on March 20.
POSCO Future M has the meaning of leading future change and at the same time, taking the lead in the future of POSCO Group by combining “Future” and the initials of Materials, Move and Manager to intuitively express that it is a future materials company.
Since the foundation of POSCO Chemical in 1971, POSCO Chemical’s main business had been basic materials such as refractories, lime calcination and carbon chemistry. These days, it is showing impressive growth by expanding its portfolio to battery materials such as cathode and anode material recently.
